Handmade in Maryland
Every BCN Woodcrafts piece is individually crafted and finished in our Maryland workshop. Tiger maple is one of the most visually striking domestic hardwoods available — its dramatic flame-like figure is entirely natural, the result of how the grain grows. No two tiger maple boards will ever look the same.
Real Wood Feels Better.
Care & Maintenance
Hand wash only — do not soak or put in the dishwasher. Dry immediately after use. Occasional reapplication of Odie's Oil or a food-safe wood butter will maintain the finish.
Frequently Asked Questions
What is tiger maple? Tiger maple is hard maple with a distinctive flame-like figure — horizontal stripes of light and dark that appear to shift as the light changes angle. It's one of the most prized figured hardwoods in American woodworking.
What is the resin fill on the engraving? The text and design are laser-engraved and then hand-filled with resin, giving the engraving real depth beyond a standard flat laser mark.
Do the shot glasses come with it? You can choose board only or board with 6 shot glasses at checkout.
Can I use it for spirits other than whisky? Of course, whiskey is just my goto — the recesses hold standard shot glasses, making it suitable for any spirit tasting including Scotch, tequila, vodka, or bourbon.
Can I get a custom engraving? This board features a fixed quote engraving. For a custom design or text, contact us to discuss a custom order.
Where is it made? Handcrafted and engraved by BCN Woodcrafts in Maryland, USA.
