A handcrafted cutting and serving board made from Honduran mahogany and myrtle wood — two species that bring very different tones together in one striking piece. Laser-engraved with a Maryland blue crab and "The Old Line State Est. 1788," finished with food-safe Odie's Oil, and sized at 15" × 8" × 1". Built for actual kitchen use, but distinctive enough to display on a counter or serve from at the table.

Every BCN Woodcrafts piece is individually crafted and finished in our Maryland workshop. Myrtle is a less common hardwood with naturally warm, varied tones — paired with mahogany's rich reddish-brown, the result is a board that stands out in any kitchen without trying too hard.

Care & Maintenance

Hand wash only — do not soak or put in the dishwasher. Dry immediately after use. Occasional reapplication of a food-safe oil will maintain the finish and protect the engraving. 

Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to cut on? Yes — but I don't recommend it with the engraving.  It is finished with a food-safe Odie's Oil finish. Avoid soaking and dishwasher use to preserve the wood and engraving.

Is the finish food safe? Yes — finished with Odie's Oil, a natural food-safe oil-and-wax finish.

Can I customize the engraving? This board features a fixed Maryland crab design. For a custom engraving, contact us to discuss a custom order.

What is myrtle wood? Myrtle is a Pacific Coast hardwood with naturally warm, varied tones ranging from golden to olive — less common than walnut or maple, and visually distinctive when paired with other species.
